Rachel Perry and her use of line.
Rachel Perry the Tokyo born, now American artist who is best known for her conceptual arts using video, photography, drawing, collage, sculpture etc. created pieces such as her chiral lines collection. Her creativity was highlighted in these pieces, and I was inspired by the way her art didn’t have to form an image to convey meaning. Instead the colours and fluidity of line told the viewer everything they need to know.
Her piece, chiral lines 19 - and most other of her chiral lines - are a not so mirror image she creates using any mediums she can find, including pencils, felt tips, byros, charcoal etc. She creates one continuous freehand line down the page, then copies it to the other.
